Summary incl. objectives
The planned cruise will provide ground-truthing data to improve local remote sensing products (water type classification, algae bloom classification) and a characterisation of the Carbonate System of the Danube River Plume. Measurements of pelagic and benthic reaction rates and fluxes will provide parametrisations for future biogeochemical models. Additionally, the cruise will provide an opportunity for a training at sea in methods that are relevant for monitoring and habitat assessment to personnel and students.
